Meet Olivia Bunson. Her owner was incarcerated during a drug raid. Olivia was left behind. She was found in a tiny, dirty cage a week later, without food or water, by two wonderful young boys with a connection to our rescue. Olivia had about a pound of feces caked on her bottom. It took two grooming sessions by three volunteers to get it all off.

While Olivia may be four pounds overweight and dealing with a rough case of urine scald, she has a fierce will to survive- this is a situation many bunnies would not have survived. After enduring hours of grooming, Olivia ate and ate and ate all night long. She chugged her water and gobbled down greens. She begged to be held and pet. She knew she was safe.

We’re tired, and we’re sad, and we’re frustrated. But most of all, we are grateful for the fates that get us to bunnies like Olivia just in the nick of time.

We suspect that Olivia will be with us for an extended period of time while she recovers from the first part of her life.

We would love if any Santa Paws in the community would send some gifts for our bunnies today! They have all been very good floofs and every single one made the nice list (we checked- twice!)

Our wishlist has been updated to include a whole bunch of toys and treats for the rescue bunnies! We promise more videos of them tossing toys and playing once they get their gifts 🎁

(The humans of the rescue would love the gift cards on the list that allow us to get the boring stuff like litter and cleaning supplies)
