Light up a room and freshen your space! Local candle-maker and bunny enthusiast Christine of Sunny Sky Candles @sunnyskycandles is joining forces with us on a gorgeous line of “build your own” candles selected especially for Everybunny Counts

Candles are available in small or large sizes with an embedded sunflower or bunnies design and come in any of six different scents. Candles will be available for local pickup only at our rescue in Ellington on Saturday, May 3rd, from 10am-2pm

The results are in!

If you guessed EIGHT babies from Miss Piggy’s x-ray, you were right! Unfortunately, one was born an angel, which is not uncommon in rabbits. We are so relieved to have seven happy, healthy Muppet babies. But also so stressed by having seven more bunnies in rescue! 😂

We are over capacity. All of our foster homes and spaces in our facility are full. This winter has been absolutely brutal with the number of strays we have taken in, putting us beyond capacity. In addition, our bank account is running dry. We cannot take in any more stray or owner surrender rabbits for any reason, unless they were previously adopted from our rescue

How YOU can help:

1) ADOPT a bunny from a certified 501c3 rabbit rescue!
There are just four rabbit-only 501c3 rescues in Connecticut: ourselves (@everybunnycounts), Bunlandia Rabbit Rescue and Rehab (@bunlandiarabbitrescue), Hopalong Hollow (@hopalonghollow_rescue), and Save The Buns (@save_the_buns). There are also a number of wonderful mixed-species rescues! But make sure to do your research before adopting. We would be happy to tell you if the organization you’re planning to adopt from is legit

2) DONATE
We are always in need of donations, especially monetary. We wish it weren’t true, but money makes the world go ‘round, and it’s essential to keeping our lights on. Thank you! This is a tough decision to make, but we cannot sacrifice the quality of life of the rabbits already in rescue by taking in more bunnies. It would simply be unfair to everyone

Let’s play a guessing game! Miss Piggy was aban

Let’s play a guessing game!

Miss Piggy was abandoned in Waterbury two weeks ago with her male partner, who did not survive. She was in labor when she got to us, but then…no babies! So this morning she made a trip to Bolton Veterinary Hospital, where Dr. Pesce enthusiastically did an ultrasound and X-ray for us.
